Sarusawa Pond
The water of Sarusawa Pond never becomes clear or turbid. There are no rivers flowing into it, and no rivers flowing out of it, yet it always maintains a constant volume of water. There are many turtles, but for some reason there are no frogs. For some reason no algae grow. Despite the number of fish being released each year, there is no sign of overflowing with fish. A pond where it wouldn't be strange if there were more fish than water.
Considered the starting point of the Ise Kaidō, this road continues from here through Naramachi and Takabatake, onward to Tenri and eventually to Ise.
